Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs)
Like Medical PPOs, these are viewed favorably by employees because the employees can use their own dentist. However, unlike medical PPOs, the network of participating dentists is sometimes very limited. Employees get the most out of their benefits when they use a participating dentist.
Dental Maintenance Organizations (DMOs)
Much like HMOs, these plans offer excellent benefits and competitive prices. The limitation is that employees must use dentists who are in the network. In addition, some DMOs provide excellent preventive care, but skimp on major services, like crowns and caps, where insurance is needed most.
Voluntary (Employee-Paid) Plans
While most group dental plans are “Non-Contributory” (Employer-Paid) or “Contributory” (partially Employee-Paid), The Broker Network is able to offer voluntary dental plans to employees willing to pay all of the premiums themselves.
(Note: Carriers typically place minimum participation requirements on voluntary plans.)
